No doubt that the most important thing before building a house is a land ownership. Most of working places are at the cities and most people live in sub urban area since the land price in good location in down town area is very expensive. That is why most people spent their of the time getting old on the street commuting. They spend hours everyday in a traffic jam to go to their office in early morning and go home in the late evening.

Some people try to overcome this by living in an apartment complex. Some people less interested to live in skyscrapers since the high risk of fire hazards, natural disaster, noisy neighbors, Alto phobia,Claustrophobia (if you must take an elevator to go to your room), etc. Sometimes the cost to rent an apartment for 10 years is enough to built a small house in sub urban area. The other way is to buy a small land and built small house on it. In this modern high speed world people only spent a few hours in the house to have a few hours sleep and most of the time they spend in the working place.
